2 The Square, Storrington, West Sussex

  • The supernatural resident here is notorious for pushing and pulling at staff and customers. Deep chills and profound sounds accompany such visitations. On one occasion a letter was posted from a firm of solicitors to an elderly guest who had died at the White Horse. It was, for some reason, put into his old room and then collected later. At which pointed it appeared to have been opened and read as there were smudges and finger marks on various parts. The ghost of an old man dressed in Victorian style seaman's clothing has been seen sitting on a bed in another room. Storrington is thinly disguised as the home village team in Hugh de Selincourt's cricket novel The Cricket Match, complete with chestnut trees and duck pond.
