43 Ipswich Street, Stowmarket, Suffolk

  • A rather bold, Georgian style of building with large windows, the Royal Oak exhibits ghostly manifestations. these include a previous proprietor. When he manifest, it is on a staircase and he is dressed in a Victorian style flannel nightshirt. He grins in a jovial manner, waves his hand in the air in a farewell salute, with disappears. Whether or not he has any connection with adjoining Tavern Street is not certain. Appearing only at night, the ghosts of tiny people have often been witnessed, dancing and singing along Tavern Street. They disappear only when they realise that they are being watched.
