Whitewebbs Lane, Enfield, Greater London

  • The oldest parts of The King & Tinker date from the sixteenth century, making it the oldest pub in Enfield. The ghost that haunts this pub is a fair haired little girl in a white dress who has often been seen by the kitchen staff running past them through the kitchen, always heading away from the bar area. She appears to be about seven years of age but nobody has as yet ascertained her identity. The little ghost has also been seen in the toilet block at the other end of the building, which is the most recent addition to the building. The private quarters above the pub are also believed to be haunted. One member of staff dislikes the office, a small room with one tiny window overlooking the ancient entrance porch, where she has seen 'a large black shadow' rushing past her. Some believe this might be the ghost of a former landlord.
