  • This was the name chosen for his pub. It was chosen by a retired sailor who has become a publican. It was the custom of many petty officers in the Royal Navy, in the 18th and 19th centuries, to open pubs with their gratuities and prize money. Many of the employees over the years have confronted a scruffy looking ghost about six feet tall. This phantom was investigated by a paranormal group, who found that there were also strange sounds in the pub. At the time, they reported a man was haunting the premises. However, they were unable to make contact. At the parish church of St John the Baptist, a ghostly monk has been witnessed by several people.
