  • There is nothing quite as certain as a person being jilted, or crossed in love, for a ghost to appear. At this 18th century pub, a female phantom walks, wailing, crying and leaving cold spots behind in her tracks. There have been accounts over the years that it was a young woman who killed herself in unrequited love. She is associated with a portrait in the pub, with an incident involving a bullet hole and a bullet found in a wall. Although this shooting incident is part of the history of the Flask, there is scant detail. On occasion, a female phantom has been observed rearranging wine glasses around polished tabletops. From her deliberate actions, it would appear she is organising an Ouija sitting. The same phantom is held responsible for blowing cold draughts down the necks of customers.
