  • There are so many miserable and unhappy ghosts haunting pubs that it is a joy to come across a merry tale. Even the name of the phantom of the Falcon Hotel is rather jolly, Willie. Over many years, Willie, a local businessperson took lunch here with his secretary. They always reserved the same table, with Willie joked with staff and begged them not to tell his wife. Well, when Willie unexpectedly died, glasses shattered on his table and staff sensed an unusual presence near to it. One day, his widow and family booked in for lunch took that table, with paranormal activity ensued. Now, this may be apocryphal. However, staff and some diners insisted they could hear Willie, happily chortling in the background.
