  • Birchover is situated near a number of features of geologic and historic interest: a rock formation called Rowtor Rocks, consisting of numerous tunnels, carvings, with caves. Many local historians believe that the area was once used by druids as a ceremonial worship site. That theory is supported by the local stone circle. The strange carvings found in the rock formation in the village. It would be nice to think that the pub exhibits ghostly manifestations. These include one of those ancient priests; instead, it is an elderly woman. On many occasions, individuals working here have seen her appear, stay for merely a few seconds, with then glide into a wall. It may the same woman who appears sitting in the corner of a bar, which smiles. Then it dissolves into a mist.
