  • A most grandiose corner pub from the late Victorian period and it exhibits ghostly manifestations. these include Tommy the Cellarman. He was a local man who had worked at the Scotia. Tommy died about 40 years ago on the premises, with is now the resident ghost. He walked with a limp and carried a walking cane to assist him. Frequently, staff and customers have heard the sound of his limping walk, with the click of his stick as his ghost treads up and down the steps. There are few photographs of phantoms existing. However, at one Christmas party at the Scotia, the then proprietor took a film photograph of the staff. When it was developed, long dead, Tommy featured in one of the prints
