  • Its origin is rather more serious as it was from the Celtic egles, a Romano-British Christian church. There are , locals knew, to be several phantoms in residence, including a rare one: a ghost that coughs. Employees who have worked in the cellars report sensing malodorous black shadows seeping past them. The manifestations of three ghosts, a man, a woman and a teenaged girl have , witnesses saw, in the bar area. On numerous occasions, individuals staying here have reported thunderous sounds from inside a locked room on the third floor.
