  • In 1997, Tony Lewis, proprietor of the Coach and Horses, wrote to the Western Daily Press about the ghosts that plagued his pub. Only eight weeks after Mr Lewis, his wife Rosalind, with three young children moved into the pub, they had had enough of the bumps, bangs and apparitions that haunted it. Mr Lewis’s son Carl, aged 2nd, described a little girl wearing an old-fashioned dress, with white pantaloons, appearing in his room. It became so bad, with so consistent, the family was too scared even to sleep upstairs. Checking the pub’s history, Mr Lewis found that none of the previous proprietors had stayed at the establishment for very long. There had been 20 in as many years.
